The joint project “Adaptive process chains to increase production quality and efficiency” (AdaProQ), which was launched on October 1, 2021, was successfully completed at the end of 2024. KAP Surface Holding GmbH, represented by Metallveredlung Döbeln GmbH, acted as a supplier to Grammer AG and worked with external partners on the production of headrests and individual seat components. The aim was to automatically record cause-and-effect relationships between material and process parameters and provide recommendations for action, as well as to establish data communication between producers and suppliers .
KAP Surface focused on linking process data from the plant control system with data from the ERP and CAQ system. The aim was to create a data structure that would enable automated analyses. With the support of pep.digital GmbH, a data warehouse was set up and the data streams were adapted so that they could be used for AI-supported evaluations. These analyses, which were developed in collaboration with Fraunhofer IWU, can detect changes in the process parameters at an early stage. As a result, adjustments to the bath additions in the coating systems can be made in good time. In addition, Senodis Technologies GmbH has made it possible to read 2D barcodes on reflective chrome surfaces. This allows traceability at component level without additional marking. Another focus was the development of a data structure for the exchange of information between our network partners. In cooperation with Grammer AG, an Asset Administration Shell (AAS) was established, which ensures a secure flow of information between suppliers and customers via an Eclipse Dataspace Connector (EDC). This solution will play a central role in digital data exchange in the future.
