Sustainable technologies in focus at KAP Surface Technologies - High-performance rinsing, internal passivation & conductivity washing for cooling circuits

"The market for cooling system technology of all sizes and types is growing tremendously", says Nicolai A. J. Baum,
CEO of KAP Surface Technologies and further adds: Increasingly efficient cooling systems are being developed and
produced not only for cooling the interior or a car, but also for cooling fuel cells and other components. Impurities from
the previous soldering processes can lead to a failure of the technology or, in extreme cases, to a short circuit or in a
fuel cell.

So that this can no longer happen with high-performance cooling units, we have one especially for this developed a
cleaning solution with the corresponding highly complex system technology and are  already using it very
successfully in series!

Due to their sophisticated technology, fuel cell coolers require a very pure and clean, but also  chemically resistant
and corrosion-proof surface. In addition to the rinsing, a conversion layer is also applied, similar to a seal.

Various processes are available in our plants for reducing flux, for achieving cleanliness through internal rinsing and
for applying conversion layers in and on aluminum coolers.

With a defined speed and circulation, the medium specially developed by us for this area of application is guided
through the cooling circuit to be cleaned with high efficiency and monitored online within the narrowest tolerance
ranges and then removed without leaving any residue.

A flushed cooler from the companies KAP Surface Technologies has a very high level of cleanliness and
demonstrably up to 95 µS/cm lower conductivity inside corresponding cooling circuits.

The required low conductivity can only be achieved and even guaranteed by using the combination of internal sinks
and conversion coating!

With this successful development, KAP Surface Technologies makes a significant contribution to the introduction
and further development of alternative energies and the goal of reducing CO2 emissions.
