In the current information age, IT Specialists have wonderful prospects for the future. Their field of activity is the efficient use and systematic development of modern information and telecommunication systems according to company requirements.

Development of applications
During their training, IT Specialists learn basic technical and business skills. They analyse, plan and realize new IT systems or modify existing ones by integrating software components. They install and configure networked systems and are responsible for commissioning and managing them. They are able to formulate IT requirements, evaluate solutions, and program and implement applications. They recognize problems and are able to resolve them. They are available to help customers and users with expert advice, support and training.  

System integration
During their training, IT Specialists acquire both technical and business foundations. They implement complex subject-specific hard and software systems according to company requirements. They analyse, plan and realize new IT systems or modify existing ones by integrating software components. They install and configure networked systems and are responsible for commissioning and managing them. They are able to resolve system problems and to plan, implement and control projects.

Excellent career opportunities
After successfully completing the apprenticeship, the IT Specialist can look forward to a diverse range of tasks. According to personal preference, this ranges from application support through programming to consulting tasks in sales and project management. In an extra-occupational program, one can go on to become a Microsoft Solution Developer or gain other supplementary skills (such as programming languages, web tools, data analysis tools and data banks). This apprenticeship is an excellent basis for continuing with a university degree in informatics.
