Fulda, 23 August 2019 – KAP AG, a publicly listed, mid-sized industrial group, has appointed Christian Meunier as managing director in the Engineered Products segment with effect as of 30 July 2019. In future, Meunier will head Mehler Engineered Products GmbH and Olbo & Mehler Tex GmbH & Co. KG.
The Engineered Products segment is one of the leading manufacturers of technical textiles worldwide. Sold under the MEHLER brand, the products, such as threads and fabrics, are used in a variety of attractive niches, particularly in the fields of mobility, manufacturing, pharma, consumer goods, aviation and oil & gas.
Christian Meunier is contributing his more than 20 years of experience in the field of technical textiles to the segment to drive sustainable growth and customer-oriented innovation. A further crucial criterion for the appointment is that Meunier was already employed at the KAP Group from 1999 to 2011 and thus has a deep understanding of the history, technology and economic competencies of the Group and in particular the Engineered Products segment. Christian Meunier is a sales expert with a high level of expertise in single-end cord and in the industrial sector for technical textiles. Christian Meunier studied economics at university before working as assistant to the general manager at PNEUS et SERVICES DK from 1994 to 1999. His next career move was to MEP-OLBO, where he worked from 1999 to 2011, ultimately as director of sales for technical threads. In 2011, he became director of sales at Milliken France and was responsible for the global sales of RFL-treated threads and fabrics for MRG applications. From 2015 to 2016, Meunier was CEO and sales director at Cordtech International SAS (formerly Milliken). From 2016 he worked for Porcher Industries SA as head of the global automotive strategic business unit and a member of the Group senior leadership teams.
